Cleanings & Fluoride: What We Want Parents To Know
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that infants have an oral health risk assessment by 6 months of age. We gladly provide this service to analyze whether your child is at a higher risk of early dental caries. We also aim to start providing dental visits at a young age to establish your child’s “dental home.” We want our little patients to feel familiarized and excited to see their dentist!
Dr. Scott, Dr. Cope, and Dr. Robins are fully skilled and dedicated to easing children’s emotions while providing caring dentistry. We want parents to know that regular cleanings are a monumental aspect of their child’s journey to great dental health. By bringing your child to the dentist on a regular basis, you can remain updated and informed on your child’s oral health, and you can become aware of proper dental hygiene habits that are important for your child to develop early in life.
We may recommend that your child receive fluoride treatments to help prevent tooth decay. Keep in mind that fluoride treatments cannot completely prevent cavities. They can help prevent decay when a child is also brushing their teeth, using the right amount of fluoride toothpaste, flossing regularly, getting regular dental care, and eating a healthy diet. We encourage you to call Sterling Ridge Dental Center at 281-363-3308 to schedule your child’s fluoride treatment and dental cleaning in The Woodlands, Texas.
